Liberty Volleyball Looks to Make First Run at a State Appearance
The Liberty Lightning Girls Volleyball Team continues to show their power and dominance throughout their third year as a varsity program. The team finished with a regular-season record of 32-2 this year, improving from last season’s 19-15 record. Senior Rylee Fay currently leads the Lightning with 61 aces and a high of 465 assists. Although strong seniors, such as Fay and Leeann Potter, will be gone after this season, the team has shown high levels of young talent through freshman Cassidy Hartman, leading the team with 213 kills. Addie Schmierer, junior, is also performing well this year with a team high 248 digs. Looking on the horizon of the postseason, the Liberty Lightning play this Tuesday, October 29th, 7:00 pm at Liberty High School. They face up against Muscatine High School that finished with a regular-season record of 6-17.
