Student Thoughts on Advisory

A new class period was implemented at the beginning of this school year called Advisory. Every Thursday, Liberty students go to their assigned classrooms for a forty-four minute lesson. The lesson topics range from community building to career options. The decision to introduce a new sort of Liberty Time has left many students to have opinions on this new class. Advisory was introduced this school year by teachers Sakinah Ellickson, Science, and Jonna Hall, English. The original idea for advisory came from Hall’s student teaching days around twelve years ago at Nequa Valley High School in Naperville, Illinois.
Rosie is a sophomore at Liberty and this is her first year on staff. Outside of school, Rosie enjoys reading, baking, and hanging out with her friends.
