Taking the ISASP

All students need to know for the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Progress.

This Tuesday, April 20, and Wednesday, April 21, freshmen, sophomores, and juniors have to take the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP). The test will be online, like the one two years ago, but students online will also have the opportunity to come to the building.

Students must bring a fully charged, school-issued Chromebook for all testing.

On Tuesday, students will arrive at their testing location at 8:50 AM, and from 8:50 AM to 9:00 AM is preparation time to log into the test. The reading test is from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM and the math test is from 10:15 AM to 11:15 AM. There is a short break from 10:00 AM to 10:15 AM. From 11:15 to 11:30, there is additional time to wrap up the test, and after that, students will go to A Lunch or fourth period. Students will attend fifth through seventh periods on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, students again will arrive at their testing location at 8:50 AM and will have 10 minutes for test preparation. The language arts and writing test is 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with no break. 11:00 AM to 11:14 AM is test wrap up time, and sophomores will go to lunch from 11:14 AM to 11:46 AM. They will then take the science test from 11:46 AM to 12:55 PM. Freshmen and juniors will remain in their testing locations until they go to their respective lunch periods. Freshmen have lunch 11:41 AM to 12:12 PM, and juniors have lunch 12:06 PM to 12:38 PM. Seniors can attend an optional lunch period with the juniors. Students will attend periods one through three in the afternoon.

Seniors are not required to report to school during testing, so school will start for them on Tuesday during fourth period and on Wednesday at 12:38 PM.

Online students taking the ISASP will be in a testing room with only online students. They will be allowed to leave the building after testing. Online sophomores will eat lunch 11:14 AM to 11:46 AM on Wednesday before the science test. They can either bring a pack lunch or request a sacked lunch.
